City of Arts and Sciences Segway Tour
You have a plenty of options to spend your time in Valencia. Our finest segway tour to the City of Arts and Sciences is one of the greatest things to experience there. You simply cannot leave Valencia without visiting the City of Arts and Sciences.
What does the adventure to La Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias include?
First of all, we will begin our segway tour from the Serranos Gates – one of the oldest gates that used to be a wall defense from the invaders in the end of the fourteenth century. After that, you will stroll down to “the lungs” of Valencia – Turia park. It is situated in the riverbed of Turia, crosses the entire city, from Bioparc to the City of Arts and Sciences and is one of the biggest urban parks in Spain due to the numerous green spaces representing the entire wealth of the Mediterranean flora. The walk will pass along the widе and convenient paths of the park of Turia. This is a green space of more than nine kilometers with play areas, sport fields and romantic corners where you can relax and hide from the heat. It is an ideal route to do it on segway.
Before we reach our main goal – the city of Arts and Sciences Valencia, there will be also a very interesting sightseeing object on our way. Gulliver park is so much fun if you have children. The park is in the riverbed of the Turiа, near the complex of the City of Arts and Sciences. Based on the “Adventures of Gulliver” by Jonathan Swift, this park is shaрed in form of a huge figure of Gulliver (about 70 meters) and the children playing on this figure are in this case the Lilliputians, so they turn out to be the characters of Swift’s story!
Next stop in your adventure will be famous Music Palace of Valencia. This Palace is one of thе most emblematic constructions of the Turia capital and one of the most important musical centers in Europe. If you are into classical music, we advise you to book a concert ticket in advance.
What is the structure of Ciudad de Las Artes?
Finally, you will reach your destination, one of “must see” things in Valencia. Through the Turia Garden, you will get to the glorious futuristic architecture project of Santiago Calatrava. It is a charming complex dedicated to scientific and cultural achievements, consisting of six edifices. Each one is truly unique and became the symbol of the city.
L’Oceanogràfic – the biggest aquarium in Europe and a unique space in the city of arts & sciences Valencia. Next object is The Hemisfèric theatre where astonishing digital projections are taking place. Príncipe Felipe Science Museum is like the city of science in Valencia. There are plenty of interactive exhibitions during which the visitors can conduct experiments and take an active part, ask questions, be curious about the things. The Palace of the Arts Reina Sofia is dedicated to opera programs. There is the greenhouse «Umbracle» landscape pavilion and the final object is Ágora (where tennis matches and various concerts are organized).
This complex is very impressive not only because of its huge dimensions but also for its eloquent forms and channels of crystal water that surrounds it.
